Bailey Bounces Back

The day I posted the "Bullpen Blues" video, Homer Bailey started for the Cincinnati Reds as they took on the two-time National League Cy Young Award winner Clayton Kershaw and the Los Angles Dodgers. As I mentioned in the video, Bailey has not been pitching well this season, and it appeared that the Dodgers would be whipping out the brooms to sweep the Reds out of town.

That was not the case as Bailey of yesteryear made a lengthy appearance in the city of angels. He lasted seven innings, striking out 6 batters while giving up only 2 runs as the Reds avoided the sweep by winning 3 to 2.  This was clearly Bailey's best game of the season so far, and he showed what he can do when he brings his A game.

Hopefully, this is the Homer Bailey that the Reds will have pitching for them for the rest of the season. Overall, Bailey looked poised throughout the entire game and was able to go toe to toe with one of the best pitchers in baseball today as he improved his record to 5 wins and 3 losses.

So what can be attributed to Homer's sudden turnaround? It's obvious isn't it? He watched the "Bullpen Blues" video before the game...
